Project Story

The title comes from the Latin phrase for "empty slate" and the program carries the tagline "From Empty Slate to Literate" as it pushes toward SDG Target 4.6 on literacy and numeracy.

The project responds to education gaps sharpened by the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of Typhoon Odette by turning empty classrooms into dedicated library spaces for students who lack books, gadgets, and internet connectivity.

Fatima Elementary School in Cortes, Bohol became the first beneficiary through support from nine sister JCI chapters, four private businesses, and the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force 62 SAC Gunther.
